As Lutherans we believe
in
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
that
Jesus died on the cross for the sins of all and rose again so that our lives
might be changed forever.
that
it is God’s great joy to love us, and we live our lives in response to that
love.
that
none of us could ever make it to Heaven, except by the power of Jesus’
forgiveness.
that
human beings are, at one and the same time, saints and sinners – never so
good that we don’t need God, and never so bad that Jesus doesn’t love us.
that
the Bible is the foundation of our life together.
It was written by God through human hands so that we might know who
God is.
in
the power of prayer.

What’s a Lutheran?
Led by former priest, Martin Luther, Lutherans were the first Christians to
break away from the Roman Catholic Church in the 1500’s.
Today, we have some practices in common with the Roman Catholic
Church as well as other Protestant churches, but there are also significant
differences. The ELCA is the largest
group of Lutherans in the country, including nearly five million members in
ten thousand congregations. We
are an open church. We believe
that everyone is welcome and everyone has gifts to share.
Women have been pastors in the Lutheran Church since the 1970’s.

Abundant Life is a Mission Church of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in a America
(ELCA). That means that we are
at the very beginning of our ministry together.
The Strong family moved to Braselton in January, 2006 and began
meeting people. We held
informal Bible studies and preview services until we started Sunday morning
worship in December, 2006.
Abundant Life had a few temporary locations until we moved into our first
seven-day-a-week home on Zion Church Road in May, 2007.
As the ministry grows, we will acquire bigger and better facilities, but for
us, the church will always be about the people gathered in God’s name.
It’s true that being a part of a Mission Church is challenging, but
it’s also exciting to be in on the ground floor of a new thing that God is
doing in our midst!
